WELCOME TO

KWA KGOTLENG ICNM SERIES 1: CHILDREN’S COLORS OF HOPE ART EXHIBITION

The Children’s “Colors of Hope” Art Exhibition is a key component of the Kwa Kgotleng International Culture Night Market (ICNM) Series 1, aimed at inspiring social change through creative expression. It is rooted in the belief that children, though often the silent witnesses of societal issues like gender- based violence (GBV), have powerful perspectives that deserve to be seen and heard. The exhibition serves as a tool to foster emotional literacy, build empathy, and create early awareness of respect, equality, and non-violence.

Introduction

The “Colors of Hope” event component is designed to engage children in a creative and educational activity that raises awareness about gender-based violence (GBV). Through painting and storytelling, children will depict their understanding of gender-based violence and its impact on their lives. This process aims to foster empathy, promote a culture of respect and equality, and amplify children’s voices in the conversation on social change. The exhibition forms part of the greater Kwa Kgotleng ICNM Series 1, which emphasizes cultural celebration and community-driven advocacy.
